Nestled at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the district is located in the state's northwest corner touching the North Carolina border. This geography makes Pickens County a great destination for getting outdoors. The area is known for scenic areas such as

Pickens County's roots run deep. It was established in the early 1800s, named

after Revolutionary War hero Andrew Pickens (1739-1817).Today, the population

Senator Rice has spent his life in South Carolina's Upstate area. He and his wife Ruth

moved to Pickens County in 1982 and are honored to still call it home.

SC Senate District 2 is located in Pickens County of South Carolina's Upstate region.

Within the district are the cities of Central, Easley, Libery, Norris and Six Mile.
